Call for Applications – Venture Track

Do you have a research-based idea with potential for commercialisation, but lack the time and resources to drive an innovation process yourself? Umeå University’s holding company is currently seeking innovative projects with the potential to create future growth and societal benefit. We offer capital and expertise to help you develop your business idea together with us.

The Offer

The call covers up to SEK 600,000 per project. Approved applications are offered a tailored process in which the project receives support from a project manager/business developer for at least six months, with the possibility of extension for up to two years.  

The project manager’s work includes assistance with market analysis, verification, and strategic guidance. The project also includes the opportunity for IP and legal support, including novelty searches and risk management. 

The project is carried out according to an individual action plan containing clear milestones and activities. The application period is open until November 30. Applications are processed on an ongoing basis. 

Who Can Apply 

  • You must be employed at Umeå University. Any co-applicants must be stated in the application. 
  • You must have the right to commercialise the intellectual assets and research results on which the idea in the application is based. 
  • As an applicant, you must be available for meetings and dialogue during the implementation of the project. 
  • As an applicant for this call, you should be interested in having UMU Holding as a partner in a future company.
